![]() ![]() Thus every time someone hits you your def drops significantly more. Due to the way land is taken from you when hit the % forts in your build is gonna drop as you get hit. It really sux to grow from 1000->1800 acres via good grabs in war over 24 hours only to see your def drop without being touched. ![]() as your def is dependent on keeping forts in your build as you get land, that land alone causes your def to drop. +You free up population to run a larger offense.this is small because the benefits to fort>TG/Stables as effective use of population space only come into play when you dedicate a significant amount of land to this end. ![]() There are 2 huge negatives to running them and only a small benefit. So a couple of things, first forts on an attacker. but it was close at points, and lack of hospitals is why.) Not that is *that* clear cut in my current war. (Which is also bad - you know you "failed" as UD if a single fairy attacker mostly keeps you in check because it keeps doubling you cause your defense left *long* ago from all those hits. But you are assumed to be a heavy attacker if UD, and 0% GS is just a bad plan. Weirdly enough - I'm usually the one advising forts for more offense (stables buff => stables + TGs > forts, this age) and *not* advising heavy GS. if you take 20 hits in 12 hours, you only get to ambush 4 of them. sure, you could run 50% farms for aid and still do well. If your kingdom is so getto this doesn't matter. but when your chain protection is also helping other things, makes it very nice to keep a decent amount of it around. In a max gain case more military is often better. If the enemy goes max gains, you still take hits, and the GS mean you can out gain your opponent. On top of all that, GS *also* hurts a max gain strat. GS makes sure it takes almost their whole kingdom to take you out in 12. they probably can take out 2 of you per wave if they have 25 provs. Your whole role in the war would be to be a super easy punching-bag. So ya - if a slightly organized getto can take out one of the toughest provs in the kingdom because it lacks GS - you, with your much lower sci, are going to get totally trashed by any decent kingdom. So I was able to force them to send most of their spare hits at me a second time - took them most of 24 hours to *actually* take me out of the war. Actually, I took the chain well because my very high science let me keep an unusually large part of my offense - and I knew to LL with my now stupid high magic sci/wpa. (A good kingdom would chain you to 500 acres *after* your land came in!) That was me, as a human sage, not using GS because I had high NW/A. Imagine dropping from 1500 acres to 500 in 12 hours - and that was just a slightly better getto that did that, wasn't even a serious kingdom. A good kingdom, seeing you lack GS as an undead, will deep chain you in war. ![]()
